On the last day of February, the professional Norwegian wind quintet Mistral is presenting a program spanning three centuries in Bodin church together with the prize-winning pianist Dimitris Kostopoulos.

In the stormy month of February, we find it fitting to open with a commissioned piece part of our "Northernly winds" hexalogy, composed by Magnar Åm in 2022 and featuring both the oboe d'amore and base clarinet in the ensemble.

As an interlude, our flutist presents one of the works that was written for the concours at the Paris conservatory in the mid-1900s, together with pianist Dimitris.

The main piece on the program is Ludwig van Beethoven's piano quintet, a youthful work with a clear connection with Mozart's quintet for the same scoring (wind quintet minus flute plus piano).
