"Mapping the Body-Nature Connection" is an art project included in a new art festival Anti-biennale: Art in active nature, where the audience is invited to experience a number of art projects out in nature, to create new meetings, new meeting places and strengthen local identity.

The performance "Mapping the Body-Nature Connection" will take place on Hellandsøya in Henningsvær on August 18th at 14:00. In a performative process the artist will create a cartographic map that holds the connection between body and natures ground at this place, using sustainable materials such as paper and charcoal. The map will be made available to the public at the place of making for 5 weeks.

About the artist
Sissel Aurland was born and raised in Harstad and is a member of Northern Norwegian Visual Artists and Norwegian Visual Artists. MA Fine Art from The Open College of the Arts in England.

Anti-biennale: Art in Arctic nature is part of the official program for Bodø 2024 European Capital of Culture. The project is supported by Nordnorsk kunstnersenter, Nordland County Municipality and Bodø2024.
