Christoph Sietzen is a man of superlatives: with his technical virtuosity and enormous stage presence, the award-winning Christoph Sietzen has sparked a revolution for the marimba in recent years. As soon as he lets his instrument sound, captivating concert experiences of a special kind are almost guaranteed. Together with Arktisk Filharmoni and conductor Christoph-Mathias Mueller, Christoph Sietzen will open the third International Percussion Festival Bodø BEAT 2024.

Percussive sounds are always around us, but we don't always notice them. During the concert, the main focus will be on percussion instruments and their incorporation to the classical music concert. Next to the world premiere concerto for percussion and orchestra written by Detlev Glanert you will hear compositions by Steve Reich, Gregor Mayrhofer and Franz Schubert.
