Welcome to Trofors, at the heart of the river kingdom with The River Way! Experience adrenaline, local history, and the art of salmon fishing in the nourishing river, Vefsna.
The River Way allows you to immerse yourself in a small and delightful community, embraced by the Vefsna salmon river. The hosts at Utpå Neset will greet you as you disembark from the train in Trofors and ensure a comfortable stay in the guesthouse. Here, you'll reside simply and rurally, right by the riverbank, in the 160-year-old timber cabin, Bakarstuo. The hosts will treat you to delicious meals crafted from local ingredients while sharing stories of local history and the untamed nature in the area.

Do you want to experience one of Norway's best salmon rivers? After your first meal in Bakarstuo, your hosts will take you on a quest for the unique thrill of hooking a large salmon. Before departure, we'll dress according to the weather, purchase fishing permits for the day, and adjust the provided fishing gear. The hosts will provide a thorough introduction and individual instruction if desired, before the next hours are spent by the riverbank in pursuit of the evening's catch.

Are you a fan of exhilarating experiences? The River Way will elevate your pulse with river rafting in the powerful Auster-Vefsna! The river is perfect for rafting, with large, fun, and safe rapids. Here, you'll have the opportunity to witness untouched nature, explore inaccessible gorges, and feel the rush of adrenaline. Fear not, you'll receive training and assistance from professional guides throughout the journey. Brave individuals of all ages can navigate wild rapids and enjoy the stunning surroundings. Prepare for a nature experience of the extraordinary.

Grane Bygdetun will provide you with a cultural journey, offering insights into the 17th and 18th centuries. During this tour, Helgeland Museum will take you back to rural society, showcasing the well-preserved buildings at the village museum and narrating how society functioned during that era. As you participate in the tour, you'll also engage in the preparation of today's lunch using a traditional 'cooking pit.
