Stories from Cold War Hotspots is an international collaborative project between the Norwegian Aviation Museum, Bodø2024, and various research institutions in Estonia, Denmark, Germany, and Scotland. The goal of the project is to examine the similarities and differences in the significance of the Cold War across European borders today. What stories and perspectives do ordinary people hold, how has the Cold War impacted their lives, and has the memory of the period contributed to shaping their identities?
Throughout 2023, the Norwegian Aviation Museum collected stories from people in five different European countries. Over 300 individuals chose to share their stories, memories, and perspectives on a past that perhaps has never been more relevant than today. These stories and perspectives form the core of the museum's latest exhibition, "Stories from Cold War Hotspots," which opens on June 13, 2024.
