Delve into the world of urban sketching in this immersive workshop July 26. guided by Nina Johansson. We´ll let the boats play the leading role in this 5 hour workshop, where we draw around the harbour in in Bodø, Norway.

In this workshop we will explore:
- Drawing complex subjects in effective ways
- Building a base to a sketch with big shapes
- Choosing a focus area in a drawing while leaving others unfinished
- A few tricks to enhance depth in sketches
- Building a narrative of a place in sketches

This workshop is ideal for:
Anyone curious to try urban sketching.
- Novices keen to develop their sketching skills
- Skilled sketchers who want to challenge their drawing habits

By the workshop's conclusion, you'll be able to:
- Dare to take on complex subjects in sketching
- Quickly decide who or what will play the lead in your sketch
- Build a sketch from large shapes to small details
- Play with the illusion of depth on a twodimensional surface
- Let go of perfection and enhance storytelling in your sketches

This is a free workshop hosted and by BODØ2024 and Urban Sketchers Norway, the first and only official Urban Sketchers Chapter in Norway. 

This workshop will be held in Swedish/Norwegian and translated to English.

Nina Johansson lives in Stockholm, Sweden. She graduated from University College of Arts, Crafts and Design in Stockholm 2002, has been teaching arts, design and photography in high school for fourteen years, and currently teaches informative illustration and graphic design at Mälardalen University in Eskilstuna. She is an avid on-location sketcher, with urban environments and everyday life as favourite subjects. She also paints, mainly watercolours, and does illustration work.
