About the Slow Adventure at DNT Rabothytta
The Slow Adventure is a playful exploration into the world we live in. We raise a dialog that illuminates the landscape and give insights into the nature of our surroundings.
While walking we collectively perform site-specific experiments and creative acts. We open up all our senses (touch, sound, vision, smell) to experience what comes on our path and we document our explorations by printing, collecting and recording. This collective artistic research results into artworks and conversations about our human scale within our landscape, the simple acts of walking and marking and by collecting materials; creating a sense of place, time and distance.
• Anyone is welcome to join and no previous experience is needed.
• The event starts at 12:30 at Rabothytta and ends around 16.00.
• The event is free and is a part of the European Cabins of Culture program by Bodø2024.
• The event be in English, but Floortje speak and understand Norwegian.
• There can be changes to the Slow Adventure due to weather.
• We will be in a small group of 14 people joining the art-hike (easy walk).
• Please make sure to be dressed for being outside in the mountains.
• You join the walk at your own responsibity.
This project was first performed at schools and events on the Faroe Islands, Svalbard, Northern Norway and the Netherlands. About Floortje Zonneveld:
I am working on Nordic rural islands for the last 13 years; Norway (Træna, Tromsø), Faroe Islands, Greenland, Iceland and Svalbard. I work with time-based, visual community artprojects. I focus on the human interaction, time, sculptural space, movement, and storytelling. As an artist and certified Arctic Nature Guide, I am always looking for shared local stories that connects my favourite islands overseas to strengthen local identity through co-creation.
