Walking within the Frame is a performance walk in the nature surrounding the Jektefart Museum. The audience is given a smartphone, which they use as a guide and companion during the performance. The audience experiences the performance both by walking together and alone.
In Walking within the Frame, the phone distracts you, while also potentially giving you new perspectives.
The artistic directors of the performance are award winning performance artist Maria Oiva (www.mariaoiva.com) and Norwegian Finnish performance artist Kristina Junttila. (www.kristinajunttila.com)
App: Zoneatlas, Finland
Producer: Reality Research Center (FI) in collaboration with Ferske Scener (NO)
Supported by: Finnish-Norwegian Cultural Institute
Premiere: September 2023 in Helsinki. Walking within the Frame is a multi-year project that will have various site-specific walks, including during the European Capital of Culture in Oulu 2026.
Accessibility: Dress according to the weather. You will be walking in rough terrain, partly on trails and in the shoreline. The performance communicates through smartphones that the audience receives upon arrival. You do not need technological knowledge, but you must be able to read and listen to information from the phone. Performance language: Norwegian or English (audience can choose)
