Arts and politics in Trencin 

The representatives of Trencin2026, Lenka Kuricova (artistic director), will hold a presentation about the city of Trenčín as future European Capital of Culture in 2026 in general but will also underline the topics of democracy and freedom in culture from the perspective of the recent political developments in Slovakia.

Lenka Kuricova will introduce the project NEW PEACE that as a Flagship project from the "All being well" program line addresses the military history of Trencin and reflects on the role of the army and the impact of its extensive army infrastructure in Trencin. In the light of the new reality that is Europe facing since the invasion of Russia to Ukraine, the New Peace project sadly gained in urgency for a relevant reflection beyond its artistic one.
